How It Works

1. Book a Time.

Plan a date, birthday party, friend day, or just because.

2. Get Ready!

We recommend wearing clothes you don't mind getting a bit messy. Please allow yourself 10-15 minutes before scheduled booking for check-in.

3. Get Set!

An adult-sized poncho is included in your booking. Your arms and legs will be exposed, but you can upgrade to a Tyvek Full Body Paint Suit (m/xl).

4. Get Briefed.

We will show you the tools and explain different techniques.

5. Have Fun!

Dance, Sing, Paint and be Happy.

6. Remember.

Take your creation with you! Display it to remember the experience.
(Please be prepared to take potentially wet Drip Figurines or Free Form items home with you.)

When I heard that Splatter Studio in Sandy Springs was offering some time spots for The Center for Movement Challenges members to come and try their hand at painting, I thought that it wasn't something I probably wouldn't be interested in, especially since I have zero artistic talent. But, Troy and Denise kept reminding us to sign up and take advantage of the opportunity, and so I did. I went in January for the first time and was a little intimidated being out of my comfort zone. But, once there and suited up from head to toe in overalls, booties, gloves, goggles and a shower cap, I realized this was going to be a fun experience. After being given instructions, given our own canvas and brushes and a paint gun, we got to work. It was so much fun splattering paint, using different brushes, and using your hands to make your own creation. I enjoyed it so much I went back last Friday for another class. This time Willie told us to paint a self portrait and he came around and talked about our creations. Both of my paintings are proudly displayed in my home now, and I look forward to creating another masterpiece! If you haven't signed up yet for the next class in April, you should. It was a blast.

Who needs to sign the waiver?

Everyone in your party! At The Splatter Studio, we prioritize your safety! We want each of our guests to enjoy the fun, liberating experience of action painting. Making sure you understand safety measures is part of ensuring a worry-free experience. So whether you're here to join in the fun yourself or simply observe, we want you to know we take your safety seriously. By signing the waiver, you acknowledge your participation in ensuring your safety while in the studio.

What protective gear is included in my session?

Each splatter session includes one poncho, two shoe covers, gloves and a hair covering. Sanitized goggles are available upon request at no charge to you. We recommend that you wear clothes you do not mind getting messy in. If you have a full day of activities planned and want to make sure your clothing is protected, full coverageTyvek suits are available for purchase at the studio or upon booking.

Note: ONLY Date and Create sessions include a Tyvek suit free of charge.

Do you ship paintings?

Of course we do! If you are traveling and cannot take your painting home with you, The Splatter Studio is happy to ship your painting anywhere within the 48 continental states via FedEx ground. Pricing varies depending on location. A staff member will be happy to assist you during your session with this. Please note that shipping times vary due to painting dry times and destination. On average your painting will arrive within 6 weeks of your session.

How old do you have to be to participate?

Action painting is loads of fun for all ages! Keep in mind that this is a messy, full action experience and may not be suitable for children under 5 years of age. While we do not put an age requirement on our experience, before booking your toddler a session we ask that you evaluate if this is appropriate based on your child’s ability to follow directions and studio rules.

Note: All children under the age of 16 must have adult supervision present at the studio for the duration of the session.

Where do I park?

Before booking make sure to check the location of the studio to ensure that you are reserving at the studio of your choice. Our Sandy Springs location has a free parking lot located at Parkside Shops 5920 Roswell Rd, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. Our Virginia Highland Studio address is 792 North Highland Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30306 and has a few parking options: Street Parking in the neighborhood-most spots are pay to park with ParkMobile. There is additional parking on the corner of Briarcliff Pl NE and N Highland Ave NE.

Do you offer discounts?

When should I arrive for my session?

Each session is 45 minutes in length and will begin at your scheduled time. We want you to make the most of your hour, so we strongly advise you to arrive 15 minutes prior to your start time. To be ahead of the game, we strongly encourage you to sign a digital copy of the waiver that was emailed to you for each member of your party. Arriving 15 minutes early will give you time to check in, get geared up, and store your belongings before your session begins.

Note: While we want everyone to enjoy the full experience, being on time and ready to go when your session time starts is essential to ensuring this. Extra time will not be given if you arrive late or are not checked in and geared up at the session start time.

Can more than one person share a splatter session?

What happens if I cannot make my session time?

No worries! While all reservations are nonrefundable, we know things happen! If you cannot make it to your reservation, you have the option to reschedule one time free of charge or redeem a credit to come back in the future. Please make sure to reschedule or redeem your credit at a minimum of an hour before your scheduled reservation time. No shows are not subject to rescheduling or redeeming credit.

When can I book a session?

I’d like more time, can I come earlier than 15 minutes before my session?

We love that you are excited! Our studios run on a tight schedule to accommodate all of our guests. Please be respectful of how hard our staff works and do not arrive earlier than 15 minutes before your session begins. This ensures that we can offer you the best possible experience! If you get to the end of your session and would like to add on more time you can check if there is room to purchase an additional 30 minutes.

Can I bring my own canvases and items?

What type of paint is used?

We use fluid acrylic paint to allow for optimal movement. This type of paint will come off skin and hair fairly easily but be mindful as it does not come out of clothing. We do provide a poncho and shoe covers to aid in protecting your clothing but it is highly recommended to dress in clothing you don’t mind getting paint on. We also sell Tyvek suits to fully protect your clothing as an add on.
